If you don’t know much and voted “just because”, you wasted your vote.
That’s a little blunt but realistically what real good does it do a democracy to vote for candidates who essentially beg for votes? Obama didn’t come out and say:
"Hey guys, I’m pretty smart and taught constitutional law at University of Chicago. Let me explain what is actually wrong with the a lot of things that most laymen wouldn’t know."
and instead said:
"the people who vote for me are right".
To say something like that would mean that Americans are wrong and that is something we don’t want to hear. Obama went with what would get him elected.
At the same time there is no way Romney doesn’t know how these things work. If he said:
"Production is more important than employment and displaced workers will find something else to do. I can’t tell you what that is but it’s important that we have systems in place to facilitate them intermediately",
he wouldn’t have even made Governor but would have been right. He made his fortune buying companies and letting go of unskilled workers(there’s more to it than that obviously).
If you voted because it is fun in it’s own way, I feel that.
